Adoption / Maternity / Foster Care

Adoption Services

Adoption Services are provided for those seeking to open their homes and hearts to adoptable children. Families are especially needed for older children, children of minority or mixed racial heritage, and children with special medical needs.

Our programs do not discriminate against persons based on race, age, residence, creed, religion or socio-economic status.

Our Adoption Services Include:

  • Domestic and International Adoption Home Studies

  • Pre and post placement services for adoptive families

  • Services to birth parents

  • Counseling which is available to the adopted child, adoptive parents, and birth parents before and after adoptive placement.

  • Domestic Placement Services

Maternity Services

Maternity Services provide caring and hope during unplanned pregnancies by exploring choices and decision-making. Confidential counseling is provided on  alternatives to abortion, exploring parenting options, family support, and adoption services. Referrals for medical care, housing assistance, and other resources are provided on a case by case basis.

Post Adoption Services

Post Adoption Services are offered in Accordance to the Adoption Confidentiality Act.  Adoptees who are 18 or older may request non-identifying information on themselves.  If the adoptee is 21 or older, a search may be conducted by the agency for the purpose of further information and/or reunion with the birth parents.

Infant Foster Care Services

Infant Foster Care for children awaiting adoption is also part of our ministry to children.  If you would like to become a foster care parent, please contact the adoption program at (601) 960-8649.

Therapeutic Foster Care

A Therapeutic Foster Care Parent can be a rewarding experience.  Not only can your family be an outreach of love and support to a needful child, but that child can bring a bountiful enrichment to the family unit.  Children in the program range from 2 to 20 years of age.  Most are children with emotional and behavioral problems and most have histories of abuse and/or neglect.  A therapeutic family can be the supporting unit that helps them learn healthier, more productive ways to live in a normal family.

We need foster families who are between 25 and 60 years of age, who are accepting and flexible, with the time to devote to a needy child.  The program provides:

  • Weekly therapy for the child

  • Foster parent training and certification

  • Monthly support group meeting

  • Monthly stipend for foster families to help compensate for their time and additional expense

  • A chance to make a difference in the life of a child
